Girdle covered with two kinds of spicules (very short spicules and long, thick, usually curved spicules interspersed between them). Tegmental granules widely separated and typically very elongated, drop-shaped.
3.1 b
Girdle leathery looking, appears almost smooth, but short and densely arranged spicules visible under magnification. Tegmental granules rather densely arranged, from oval to elongated oval.
