Welcome to our Explore Your Shore! Round-Ireland Coastal Bioblitz for World Oceans Day 2023.
From 8th to the 11th June we want as many individuals, groups and organisations as possible to survey their local rocky shore or beach for marine species. Surveys should last for 1 hour (or more!) and be timed for the hour leading up to low tide. For details of how to survey, click on our Big Beach Biodiversity Survey or Great Rocky Shore BioBlitz links
Not sure when low tide is? Check our Tides4Fishing or the Marine Institute’s Tide Predictor.
Upload your records using our Great Rocky Shore Bioblitz or Big Beach Biodiversity Survey forms.
Track our Round-Ireland Coastal Bioblitz via the National Biodiversity Data Centre’s Twitter account and our Explore Your Shore! Facebook account. Also check this page daily to see how we are progressing and see the total records recorded and total species recorded, and find out which individual, group or organisation is leading the way in terms of marine species recording.
Share your Round-Ireland Coastal Bioblitz pics on our Explore Your Shore! Facebook page.
