Welcome to the Explore Your Shore! Seashore Splash! for Biodiversity Week 2026.
From Friday 15th to Sunday 24th May we are asking those visiting the coast, to record and photograph as many marine species as possible and upload them for the National Biodiversity Data Centre’s Explore Your Shore! citizen science survey.
We will be sending out regular updates via the National Biodiversity Data Centre Twitter account and our Explore Your Shore! Facebook account. You can check into this site daily to see how things are progressing in terms of total records recorded, total species recorded and which coastal county is leading the way in terms of marine biodiversity recording.
We also want YOU to share your daily photos with us via social media, while not forgetting to record via our web app or online recording form!
And there’s a prize!! – two lucky recorders who submit records for our Seashore Splash! will win a copy of our suite of 3 marine identification swatches (also available from the National Biodiversity Data Centre online shop!).
You can upload your records for our Seashore Splash! here
