Cross-border Marine Bioblitz
August 21 @ 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Join the National Biodiversity Data Centre, Ulster Wildlife and CEDaR for a Cross-border Marine Bioblitz at Carlingford Lough. Team up with Explore Your Shore! at Templetown Beach or Ulster Wildlife and CEDaR at Kilbroney from 11am to 1pm while we explore the intertidal rocky shores at these locations, photographing and recording as many marine species as possible.
Bring you wellies and appropriate clothing, as well as your camera/smartphone to take photos of your finds. You will be able to submit your records using our Biodiversity App or submit them online. How many marine species can we record in one day? The more people we have exploring on the day, the more species we will find.
We hope to have a number of seashore experts on hand to help you identify what you find on the shore.
Meet in the Car Park at Templetown Beach or at the Ross Monument, Kilbroney at 11am. For further details CLICK HERE.
Following our intertidal survey join us at the Cloughmore center at Kilbroney, Co. Down at 3.30pm – 5pm for a BioBlitz identification session, followed by talks by Explore Your Shore! and Coastwatch.
Our Carlingford Lough Marine Bioblitz partners are the National Biodiversity Data Centre, Ulster Wildlife, CEDaR, Seasearch Northern Ireland and Coastwatch.
